The Basics of Email Marketing

By  //  Marketing  //  No Comments

Email marketing is one of the most effective ways of promoting and selling products and systems online. A lot of people have the assumption that email marketing is nothing more than “spamming”, but when done intelligently email marketing can allow business people to generate new sales as well as ongoing income.

The first thing to be aware of is that true email marketing comes from getting the names and email addresses of qualified leads. This is not as simple as buying lists of names and email addresses; although many beginning marketers do try this approach. The best form of email marketing is “opt-in” email marketing, where visitors to the marketer’s website fill in a form with their name and email address (and sometimes other information) and then give the marketer permission to send them more information.

Most marketers now use a double opt-in strategy where the lead fills in a form, and is then sent a link in an email address asking them to confirm that they requested further information. In this way the marketer can be confident that everyone in their mailing list does want to receive such information, and they also can not be accused of spamming. If an interested party no longer wants to receive information from the marketer they can choose to opt out and unsubscribe from the marketer’s list.

The best email marketers create informative newsletters which are designed to provide useful information to the reader. In this way the marketer builds up a relationship with his or her readers through regular email newsletters, and the reader develops trust in the marketer. When the marketer does wish to promote or sell a product, their readers are already interested in the type of product they are promoting, and the response will be a great deal more satisfactory than trying to send out a sales letter before building trust, or trying to promote products to people who have not specifically requested information and who may not be interested in what the marketer is offering.

In order to profit successfully from email marketing, you need to have a means by which people can opt in to your list. This is generally a form on your website, which can be created in house, but more commonly email marketers will choose autoresponders or mailing list software companies to deal with their subscribers. There are many such companies online who will do the job for a reasonable price, making it simple for the marketer to get new subscriptions and send out informative and marketing emails to all subscribers.

The marketer can either send out pre-arranged emails to each new subscriber or can simply choose to send a daily or weekly newsletter, or can use both methods. Quite often, marketers interest people by offering free information. They might prepare a series of lessons or informative emails which are sent out regularly to each new subscriber from the time the subscriber first puts their name and email address down and requests information. Some marketers use a combination of these two techniques.

The best email marketers know that building a relationship with their subscribers is the key to successful marketing. If they can provide informative newsletters with interesting and valuable information, subscribers will develop a solid level of trust in the marketer. That way, when the marketer promotes a product or service, they will be more inclined to purchase, based on the trust already established. It can take time and effort to build up a solid subscriber list, but it is well worth it for any online entrepreneur or businessperson who is looking for long term results.

Free Marketing Classes – Enroll Now!

Free Marketing Classes – Enroll Now!

It’s easy to get frustrated when you first start out marketing online. Everyday you see all those emails every morning when you open your email box and read all those promises of making all kinds of big money online. You’ve probably even been suckered into sending your hard earned cash to the guru’s and those fabulous programs robably made you absolutely no money.

You more than likely, have recommended some of your family and friends to one of these opportunities only to find there was no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow as it was explained in the promotional material you fell for originally. You probably even lost a couple of good relationships with family members or friends because of not being able to delivery on the promises of these questionable opportunities.

Who knows how much money you’ve wasted on various products, purchasing leads, inventory on some MLM business or pyramid scheme that didn’t pan out. By now I’m sure you’ve seen the short comings of many of these hype promotions and by now I’m sure you’re pretty discouraged and feel like quitting the whole scene of online marketing.

If this is beginning to sound too familiar, don’t give up. Many experts feel the internet is in its infancy for the next huge .com boom. There were thousands of millionaires made in the last internet boom. Based on everything I can read, the last boom will pale in comparison to what we are about to see happen on the internet in the near future.

Knowing how to promote on line is going to be the all important secret to be successful in this surge, to become one of the fortunate people who will become financially independent in this next round of marketing on line. Some of us have already experienced unfathomed growth in our businesses to say nothing about our bank accounts. I’m looking forward to the arrival of the future generation of marketing.

I know how you feel regarding all the examples we talked about above, however, the future looks bright for any online business. I can’t stress enough the importance of learning how to market on line. It’s unfortunate that in this segment of the industry, there are individuals and companies who are charging outlandish fees for information that should be free regarding the basics of how to market. Their goal is to make a quick buck, and go to the next sucker for a repeat of their questionable tactics. Don’t get suckered into this type of get rich quick schemes.

When starting out in this marketing journey, we’ve all experienced the same uncertain trials of trying to learn the process. It’s apparent that no one has seemed to be concerned with helping the little guy and gal. When I first started learning this process I had an extremely difficult time understanding the structures of what I needed to do to be successful online.

During my working career I was a investment broker and had my own insurance company, and was good at what I did, however, this gig was totally different than anything I had every encountered. I had so much problems with learning the basics of marketing online that, I finally prayed to God and vowed that if he would help me to learn this process, I would share my knowledge with those who were struggling…..just like I had been doing. I was spinning my wheels and going nowhere fast. God answered my prayers and now it’s time I repay my vows.

I was fortunate to find the SEO Master himself, Butch Hamilton, a very knowledgeable, caring, giving man who was willing to take me under his wing and teach me the process of online marketing. Now I am repaying my promise and sharing with others what I learned regarding the inner working of this whole process called internet marketing.

I’m currently accepting new students who are willing to put forth a reasonable effort to learn how to market online. If you feel you are one of those individuals, I would love to listen to you and see if I can help you fulfill your lifelong dreams of having your own business. This class is free, so call me as soon as possible and reserve your seat today. These classes will be held in the evening, once a week with each sessions lasting for about an hour. I am looking forward to visiting with you by phone and completing the reservation process. Remember, the classes are FREE! Seating will be limited so call now.

Optimization Tips For Better Page Rank!

By Larry L. Miller  //  Marketing  //  No Comments

Optimization Tips for Better Page Rank!

The function of the search engines, is to provide traffic to any type of web site on the internet. The search engines doesn’t discriminate against a site just because someone within the search staff, doesn’t like a particular subject matter. Big business, small business, adult sites, or church sites must all follow the same guidelines (better known as algorithms) to get indexed and page ranked by the search engines. If your site is not optimized properly, you lose. This said, if you can’t find your site online, then your chances of online success will never happen. If the search engines has not indexed your site, there is always a specific reason your site is not being found. If you don’t have visitors to your site, your chances of making money online is little to none.

There are basically two ways you can get the job done. You can learn the process of online marketing, or you can hire a marketing specialist that will do the job for you. After your site is up and running, with visitors frequenting your site, and a steady stream of income, then most people will accept some responsibility in the marketing process, and start taking a more active role in their marketing process, using what they’ve learned from the professional to promote their own business opportunity. This is an excellent way to get your opportunity up and running effectively, plus, this gives the web site owner the choice to save some money regarding the ongoing expenses of marketing.

The duties, of search engine optimization (better know as SEO) is an ongoing process in any online promotion. This is a process which is designed to improve the search engine rankings of your web site. There are two way to get your message to the masses. One is by advertising with paid ads. Some of these ads are strictly paid advertisement, while others are on a bid basis. The other way to get recognized (which is the most solid way to build your business), is to follow the algorithms of the search engines and optimize your site to earn organic search engine page rankings. This type of strategy is what a Search Engine Optimization Specialist will follow to get your site to Top Positions on Google, and other fine search engines.

SEO companies and specialist will begin your campaign by, analyzing your web site, and reviewing the source codes of your site, making sure that there are no red flags to the search engines. Incomplete or questionable aspects of your site will create negative points against your web site in the eyes of the search engines, and your page rankings will drop. The goal of the specialist is to find these problem areas, and correct these problems, so you will be compliant with the algorithms of the various search engines. The balance here is critical, because, what may be the Google balance of optimization, is different than the balance of Yahoo or Bing. So optimizing, and meeting the criteria of one search engines doesn’t necessarily mean you will have a better chance on one search engine compared to another search engines. The secret here, is to construct a well balanced web site, which meets the guidelines of the big three search engines. This is a delicate balance here, so seek the advise of your SEO marketing specialist if you need to.

A well planned SEO Campaign will include three major issues. Keyword Analysis, On Site Optimization and Off Site Optimization.

Keyword analysis should be conducted first. You or your specialist must select the relevant keywords for your particular web site. Each web site, marketing campaign or article is different, and the keywords for each type of marketing must be relative to your presentation.

When addressing your site optimization, your SEO professional will analyze your Title, Keywords, Meta Description and Content, to make sure your site is a well balanced presentation in the eyes of the search engines, as well as eye appealing, to the users who visit your site. If there are changes needed, that will enhance your possibility for a successful campaign, then your professional, should have your pre-authorization to make those online changes quickly. According to some experts, this phase of optimization accounts for about 40% of what search engine look for when ranking your site.

The development of inbound links, outbound links, reciprocal links, cross links etc., are considered offsite optimization. This accounts for about 60% of the importance of the algorithms the search engines are currently using. Increasing the quality of your links is far more important than the quantity to your web site. One relevant, quality link carries more weight with the search engines, than a hundred questionable links. To maximize your site exposure online, you must concentrate on getting as many relevant sites as possible to link back to your site.

Be cautious of accepting just any reciprocal link….choose your reciprocal links wisely and have a verification system that will track those reciprocal links, making sure they’re active at all times. If those links become inactive, immediately delete the link. One common trick is, for a company to reciprocal link to you, and within a short time, they will drop your link. Then you would be linking to them, however, they would not be linking to you. That’s not the way this process was designed and is totally unfair. Having a tracking system of some kind will help you keep a handle on this type of unethical practice.

In Summary: Choose your target market wisely, and make your campaign evolve around your target market. Spend as much time as needed, choosing the right keywords for your web site. Optimize your site, but don’t over optimize your opportunity, for the search engines or the users. Last but not least, work on your linking, with precision, choosing who you link with, where you link to, and be extremely conservative with any reciprocal link you may accept. Watch out for the questionable reciprocal link scammer. Good luck in your marketing efforts.

Introduction to Search Engine Optimization

By Macon Gravlee  //  Uncategorized  //  No Comments

Search engine optimization or SEO if you like is a way of analyzing a website and altering it to become search-engine friendly so that the search engines can be able to easily read and index it. SEO is about customizing a website to get high rankings on the search engines. The reasons for high search engine rankings are obvious — when web surfers use the search engines to look for something, they rarely search beyond the top 20 results and as such, if a website is to benefit you, it needs to get rankings among the top 20, if not the first slot.

Even though SEO has been in existence for quite a long time now, it has gained popularity only in the recent past. This is due to advancement in technology where new tools such as use of Java applications, many images, and Flash require a website to be optimized so that the search engine spiders can read the site easily. Note that if the content of your website cannot be read by the search engines, definitely the site will not be indexed meaning it will not be available to your potential visitors when they look for it on the search engines.

Basically, the search engines have a very huge database that they maintain with information of all websites available. The information however is never listed on the search engine’s results page but they take the information into consideration when ranking websites. As such, a webmaster should ensure they optimize their sites to selected keywords and also when submitting the websites so that the sites get ranked.

Major search engines today are free hence you should take advantage and advertise your products and services for free, which you can do in as little as an hour. If you are not adept on SEO, you can always hire professionals to do the work for you. Even so, the internet is full of resources that can enlighten you on SEO, which is a good thing so that you cannot be left on the dark even as you hire someone.

With that said, it is important to familiarize yourself with what Unethical SEO is about. These are unacceptable techniques applied to trick the search engines to give websites high rankings that they do not deserve. Note that the techniques were once acceptable, but webmasters went overboard and were banned. A perfect example is keyword stuffing whereby a site contains very many keywords placed aimlessly and nothing else.

As tempting as unethical SEO is, you should not use it because yes you will get the high rankings that you want, but it will be short lived. First off, you will only annoy your visitors because you will target the search engines and not them, and secondly, you risk your website getting banned completely from the search engines.

Boiled down, Search Engine Optimization is a set of techniques applied to attract potential clients to your site. The main aim of a search engine is to give web surfers informative high quality content and if SEO is practiced ethically, these two objectives will not be contradicting at all.

Link Directories: How to Get Started

By Macon Gravlee  //  Uncategorized  //  No Comments

Link Directories are platforms for website owners seeking to exchange their site’s links for the purpose of generating traffic through search engine optimization. They are great resource centers for developing and managing contacts of related sites as well as posting and reciprocating links. Link Directories have over time generated a lot of interest as a way of organic traffic growth and are equally effective.

How Link Directories Work

The concept and need of linking website has grown out of two reasons; one, related sites trying to ease information accessibility and two, generating much valued website traffic. High traffic optimizes search engine’s ranks which has the multiplier effect of building more traffic and even higher ranking with search engines. It is for these reasons that site owners are keen to link their websites with content related sites. Link Directories provide the much needed platform for this.

The Best Stop for Starters

Much as link building is held with such high regard, established web site owners are only keen on exchanging links with you if your site is well ranked on search engines and/or if you will guarantee a front page link on your website. This has always proved an uphill task for SEO starters or for new websites, as garnering a first page rank with search engines takes time and must grow organically.

For starters therefore, link directories provide the best information shop for meeting new owners who are willing to build their link bases from the scratch. There are also site owners who would not mind a second or third page link placement on your website, as long as the website is content related with theirs. It is such contacts that are highly valued, again due to the multiplier effect of traffic generation.

Other Valuable Link Building Options worth Exploring:

As mentioned, link building is a proven tool of building traffic to your site. It is therefore worth the time exploring other options of link building, other than link directories. These include;

- Forums participation. This involves being a member of forums related to your site’s content, posting comments, solutions and opinions and leaving a signature with your website’s link. The advantage with this tool is the content-related traffic you will get.

- Yahoo (and related) Answers Sites. Websites such as Yahoo Answers are highly rated on search engines and participation in such sites is a great way of creating visibility of your site. As forums participation, you need to leave a signature at the end of your comment/answer which will lead others to your website.

- Running ads on popular website. This may prove expensive for starters and new websites but it is a proven way of generating content-related traffic. Search Engines run a per click cost charge on your ad through Google analytics. One of the advantages is being able to track where your traffic comes from and therefore knowing where to focus your linking efforts on.

- Article directories. Writing and submitting search engine optimized content articles in article directories is a popular way of generating traffic. Options here include writing the articles yourself or hiring a content writer experienced in lead generation writing.

Is Submitting to Web Directories For One Way Links the Best SEO Strategy?

By Macon Gravlee  //  Uncategorized  //  No Comments

The answer to the question as to whether web directory submission is the best way to go lacks a definite yes or no. For one, it is an undeniable fact that there are some significant improvements in site Search Engine Rankings which can be directly credited to directory submissions. However, you have to adhere to Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing best-practices. It is to be noted that it is within the sphere of possibility that a scantily conducted web directory submission campaign could be considered by the search engines as spam and prove to be a futile exercise after all.

Web Directory submissions can be very effective and useful and should be done and not ignored. You shouldn’t however rely on them fully as the only Search Engine Optimization Strategy. Truth is, you can get a few targeted visits thanks to the directory listings but they will not give you a huge amount of traffic or boost your rankings or pagerank in a matter of hours. With that said, directory submission can be taken seriously on the following few exceptions and things:

Always use Unique Descriptions and Titles – you should have a unique description and title for each of the directories you will submit to. Ensure your main keywords and keyword phrases are well used in the title and description, and ensure that the language is flowing naturally and not spamming. Take the time to create a new title and description for each submission; it will pay off in the end.

Only submit to the best directories. It would be pointless to submit to poor ranking directories, those that have spam on their pages, or those with poor reputation because it would be a total waste of time and money. Go for the highest possible quality web directories, the likes of DMOZ and Yahoo Directory, as well as some niche directories that specialize in your specific niche.

It is OK to deep-link if the directory you are submitting to permits deep-linking. Deep linking is where you submit the URL of web pages beyond your homepage. Keep in mind though that one link per directory is more than enough hence you shouldn’t do it for each and every directory you wish to submit to.

Never submit to a directory section just because the section has a high page rank rather, look for the directory section that is most related and relevant to your site and then submit there. In other words, your aim should be thematic linking and not PageRank.

When dealing with paid directory submission services, it is to be noted that they can save you lots of energy and time but you have to be very careful and dictate where and how they submit. Never allow them to run out of control because they’ll end up spam-submitting your website to over 50 million unrelated directories and the outcome is not something that you will like for sure.

Simple But Effective Methods of Promoting Review Sites

By Ahmet Dagseven  //  Uncategorized  //  No Comments

Ever wondered about how you can influence people to purchase almost anything you promote without them thinking you are a scam artist this is to the world of review sites!

The purpose behind a review site is with the objective of you taking a selection of more products that you are promoting, and to give an impartial and frank review for all of them. You point towards their benefits and their faults and once prepared correctly you will gain the trust of your prospective purchaser who will in return be willing to make that commitment of buying.

However you, need to keep a few things in mind when constructing your review site. Firstly, it is essential that you be totally and completely honest in you reviews. You must exhibit to your potential buyers that you are not trying to persuade them to buy one product over the other, but instead that you are trying to simply inform them in their purchase of whichever one they would like.

You achieve this by giving an accurate and detailed description of each product and information about the product, and then write a short paragraph regarding your estimation of the product in question. Most affiliates that promote review sites just try to force the reader into purchasing one of the products (usually because they get the highest rate commission from that product) by overstating the benefits and making it seem far superior to all the others and not informing any of its drawbacks. People in today’s world are more price conscious and internet savvy than in recent years and they are clearly able to distinguish the truth from the obvious sales pitch. With this in mind people feel like they are being scammed and they also immediately assume that the review is fabricated.

This leads to the second point, which is you must be not at all “pushy” in any of the reviews. This is because as soon as the reader thinks you are trying to sell them something they will click away. The reader needs to decide they want to buy the product all by themselves, and as long as you do your job creating accurate reviews, they will more than likely make that purchase.

The products themselves need to be well researched and have a history of performance as the only way of correctly assessing a product is directly linked to how well it performs in reality not just what the merchants are claiming. It is also advisable to have first hand knowledge of the products that you are reviewing, therefore make a few purchases if possible, and see how well they actually perform before starting to promote them.

When making a review site also remember to have between 3 and 5 products at a time, this is because research has shown that too many products tend to confuse the prospective purchaser, too many choices can lead to confusion therefore keep the reviews compact and do not over complicate the process. By giving a review of only the top performing products you will be more likely to make that sale.

The last point that cannot be overstated is make sure your products are the best in there respective field at the price point, this is because most buyers are more than likely to have been surfing the internet for the review of certain products they will have noticed which products are being acknowledged as being superior or promoted over others, therefore when they come to your page with all the relevant information then this reinforces to them that they are making the right purchase.

So as long as you follow these basic steps above, you will have an excellent review site, which if promoted correctly will be making heaps of sales!

Internet Marketing Guru – Outsource Some of the Work For Maximum Efficiency

By Frank Demming  //  Marketing  //  No Comments

An Internet Marketing Guru is someone who was ready to quit the rat race since the commencement of their work career. There are times that we don’t realize the value of the stuff we have unless we lose it. Every job is likeable, the way you look in to it and the expectations we get out of it matters. Internet Marketing Gurus realize that every job pays and they know that the way you look in to your jobs is what actually makes you feel that you are out of the rat race.

Internet Marketing Gurus are good at outsourcing quality work. They deal with all areas of internet marketing like link building, article development, web site development, pay per click, pay per impression, pay per view, affiliate marketing and lot more. Practically, it is impossible for the guru to be sitting and doing all these jobs himself. He/She knows how to get the work done bringing in growth to each project. So, an IM guru is someone who is an efficient manager.

An efficient manager is well versed in employing experts in each particular aspect of the project(s). What if you are good in planning and you have a whole lot of people who are not working efficiently. Then all of your hard earned planning is left for naught. It is very important that you employ an efficient work force. Efficient people don’t work for peanuts. So, you have to consider paying a reasonable sum and hiring an efficient team of people. When you do this, the job gets done and the purpose is fulfilled. An Internet Marketing guru earns sufficiently enough to obtain a strong work force. This is the overall successful formula of IM gurus.

Cut-throat competition is there in the internet business. If you sleep for a day, then when you wake up you see that several of them are ahead of you. To succeed in internet marketing you need to be on top of the latest trends in marketing so that you are constantly trying new strategies.

A notable aspect of internet marketing is that something that is important today will not be important or will not work tomorrow. Credibility and the kind of trust you have developed also matters, so internet marketing gurus are careful not to hurt their reputation and have their empire crumble to nothing. There is nothing that an IM guru can absolutely get for free. They understand the extra hours they need to work if they are to ensure long standing success.

A universally acceptable business model that has a valid growth potential is the mark of the internet marketing guru. Anyone who is looking to be comfortably well settled should work out of his comfort zone, because in reality when you are in a comfort zone your brain relaxes way too much. If you are someone looking to evolve into an internet marketing guru you have to make sure that you step out of the comfort zone and begin working on your business plan, researching possible business partners, and looking into outsourcing opportunities.

The Best Free Twitter Applications

By Mark Thomas Walters  //  Uncategorized  //  No Comments

If you use Twitter on a regular basis, the makes sense to utilize Twitter applications, as they add a lot of functionality to the Twitter experience. They can help you do a variety of things, with one example being to automatically notify your Twitter followers whenever you update your blog or website.

Whether you use Twitter from your computer or your cell phone, you will have a wide range of applications to choose from. The vast majority of them are free to use, though some of them must be purchased. The paid for ones normally offer a basic version for free though, and those which do not have a basic version for free tend to offer free trials anyway, so that you can test them out before going and ahead and making a purchase.

If you are interested in trying out some Twitter applications, then take a look at these ones first:

Twitterholic – Using this Twitter application allows you to quickly find out who are the most influential Twitter users in your field. Once you know who they are, you can start following them to ensure that you get instant access to the hottest news and tips.

DoesFollow? – Offers a quick way to find out if those who you are following are also following you back. Unless someone is really sending you great information in their tweets then you may as well unfollow them unless they are also following you.

Tweet Later – This application is ideal for people who are unable to use Twitter daily due to other commitments. Tweet Later allows you to write a weeks worth of tweets in one go, but rather sending them all at once, you can instead pre-schedule them to be sent at whatever future dates and times you want.

Twitter Alerts – Whenever someone mentions your name, your company’s name or one of your products or services, this app will notify you. Therefore, you can easily keep track of all the good (and bad!) things being said about whatever you have an interest in.

Tweetmeme – This app provides a Twitter button plug-in for blog posts and articles, and allows you to track the most popular ones by category. You can also find out which Twitter users have included a specific URL in their tweets.

Twitpoll – You can create a poll or survey, post the link to it on Twitter, and have your followers complete the poll or survey. You can potentially carry out a lot of market research without very much effort at all.

Tweet2Tweet – This app lets you view the back and forth dialog between another two Twitter users. You can literally tap into the conversations between two experts in your field, and find out lots of great information.

Twitpic – Sharing pictures with your Twitter followers is made easy with this app. All you need to do is open an account on the TwitPic website and link it up with your Twitter account. Then, every time you upload a new picture, it will be automatically tweeted to all of your followers.

There is lots of Twitter software for you to choose from but, unfortunately, some of it is not really all that worthwhile. Here are a few examples of what you can expect Twitter software to help you with:

- Create a shortlist of people that might be interested in following you by analyzing their interests, their geographical location, who they are already following, and what keywords they are using in their Tweets.

- Check the list of people who you are following and automatically unfollow anyone who is not also following you.

- Instantly set your Twitter account to follow anyone who starts following you.

- Automatically send a thank you message to every Twitter user who starts following you.

- Set your pre-written tweets to go out to your followers on specific dates and at specified times, so that you do not have to keep logging in and out of your Twitter account.

- Unfollow people who spam you by searching the Tweets that you receive for keywords that you have put on a blacklist.
